"Crafty" Cindy Gibbons teaches Special Education in Altoona, Pennsylvania. She enjoys instructing young children during the day and encourages their creative skills. She believes that creativity not only helps develop well-rounded children but inspires them throughout their lives.
At home, Cindy has both a wonderful son and a supportive fiancée. Although Cindy's family occasionally serves as her "volunteer staff," they tend to enjoy Cindy's melted bead projects as much as she does. As a matter of fact, Cindy's family has also designed and created different elements of her products, truly making her bead art a family effort.
Cindy's Work
Originally melted bead art was simply a hobby for Cindy. Since high school, Cindy would melt her beads for the purpose of decorating her own home or for crafting gifts at Christmas time. As people began to see Cindy's work and requests began to accumulate, Cindy decided to take her endeavors to a more professional level.
Nowadays, after her teaching day is over, after supper has been eaten and after all of the family activities are complete, the beads come out and away she goes!
With thousands of beads surrounding her and her headphones locked in, Cindy diligently lays out pattern after pattern, to be melted into her custom bead art. Sometimes projects are small, fitting onto one tray. Other requests can take an entire table of trays! Cindy regularly creates her own patterns or uses patterns that her customers might provide to build her projects.
